The Black Belt, to me, means the following: confidence, self-defense, strength, focus, and knowledge. Working for my Black Belt has helped me to achieve these things in all parts of my life, such as at home, at school, with my family, and my friends.

Going to taekwondo gave me confidence in myself. Master Shin made me sure of myself. Confidence makes me feel like I can do things I never did before. Self-defense gave me confidence. It has also taught me discipline and to be aware of the people around me. Also you can protect yourself or someone else.

I was weak in the past but I got stronger every year in taekwondo. It made my mind and my body stronger. It made me a better person.

Focus in taekwondo has helped me with focus at home and at school. It helped me with my reading skills. It also helped me become more artistic. I have learned to be more patient and take time to do things right.  Knowledge helped me think before I act or talk. It helped me in school and get better grades.

All of these things are what the Black Belt means to me. I feel I am a better person now.
