Every day of our lives, we learn something new with every experience. With the flood of information through the newspapers, internet, magazines, television, and books, we are almost addicts for more information and knowledge.

If a professional falls behind and does not learn updated information and knowledge, you can imagine what will happen to that professional.

Facts and information can change at anytime, except for what is in the Holy Bible and what Mom and Dad taught you when you were baby: Be Honest and Kind to Others, Be Polite and Respectful, Share What You Have, and Help Others.

I have great memories from my life. When I was very small child, even before beginning school, my mom read me a tiny book called “Myong Shim Bo Gahm” or in English, “Light, Mind, Treasure, Mirror”.
She explained the book to me. This is a sample from the book.

TEN LESSONS OF LIFE

1. If you do not obey your parents, you will have regrets after they are gone.
2. If you are not kind to your brothers and sisters, you will have regrets when you separate.
3. If you do not work hard and study at school, you will have regrets when you have grown older.
4. If you do not do your best, you will feel regret after you have failed.
5. If you are not polite to your guest, you will feel regret when he has gone home.
6. If you waste what you have, you will regret the loss when you are in need.
7. If you do not protect your belonging, you will regret their loss when they are stolen.
8. If you take any kind of drugs, you will regret destroying your mind and body.
9. If you do not control your drinking, you will regret your behavior when you become sober.
10. If you do not control sexual misconduct, you will regret your behavior when you catch a disease or have hurt someone.

Most important and valuable treasure we can pass on to our children is what we teach them at home. Then our children will be able to educate the next generation. It makes me happy when I imagine our teachings circulating through the generations.

I want see our children grow up with a giving heart who become great leaders of the future with great study habits, terrific attitudes, who have received a great education, and become successful professionals. Not just professional success measured by money.
