The Legacy of Master Shin: A Timeline of Achievement

1. The Foundation: Young-In University (South Korea) Master Shin graduates from the world’s most elite Taekwondo institution. The journey began at Young-In University, widely recognized as the “Mecca” of martial arts. Here, Master Shin mastered the physical and academic requirements of Taekwondo and Physical Education, grounding his practice in deep traditional roots and modern athletic science.

2. Cultural Heritage: Founding Han Kook Moo Yae The birth of a unique educational philosophy. Recognizing that martial arts is a “Wisdom Education,” Master Shin founded Han Kook Moo Yae. He dedicated himself to preserving Korean Traditional Martial Arts while developing a curriculum that prepares students for the complexities of modern life.

3. Community Impact: Citizen of the Year (2013) Moving beyond the mat to serve the community. Master Shin’s commitment to leadership earned him the Citizen of the Year award in Lake Stevens. His involvement with the Lions Club and local civic organizations solidified his belief that a true Black Belt is a servant-leader first.

4. Global Leadership: US National Team Director (2014–2015) Taking American athletes to the world stage. Master Shin was appointed as the Director for the U.S. National Taekwondo Team. He led Team U.S.A. at the 2014 FISU World Games in China and the 2015 Universiade Games in Korea, proving his methods work at the highest levels of international competition.

5. The Present: Master Shin’s Leadership Academy (Puyallup) Bringing world-class mentorship to the Puyallup. Today, Master Shin brings his global experience back to the local level. By combining the “Beauty School” philosophy with elite-level training, he is focused on the most important mission of his career: Creating tomorrow’s leaders.

Because childhood and adolescence pass in an instant, every moment on the mat is treated as a non-renewable resource. We teach students to value the Present Moment, turning hard work into a source of pride rather than a chore.
